THE CHALLENGE

A wild journey through the historic lands of the Kingdom of Asturias, the first Christian political entity established in the Iberian Peninsula.

Here, history and wilderness meet on two wheels. Asturias is called the cycling paradise: a land of challenging gradients, winding narrow roads, remote valleys and spectacular mountains, where rugged beauty and epic climbs come together to create an unforgettable ultracycling adventure.

Reinu d'Asturies Paraisu — The Untamed Kingdom is a self-supported ultracycling fixed-route challenge designed to explore the most iconic and spectacular corners of this ancient kingdom.

The adventure begins at sunrise on 17 April 2027, from the Mirador de la Providencia in Gijón, overlooking the Cantabrian coast. From there, riders will embark on a demanding journey across the territory, following a fixed route including six Explorer Point sectors, taking riders through the most extraordinary areas of the historic lands.

To be finisher you will cover at least approximately 900 kilometres and 19,000 metres of elevation gain within the 158 hours time limit. And those who achieve to complete the full route will become the new legends of the Untamed Kingdom, riding 1,050 kilometres and 24,500 metres of elevation gain.

Just you, your bike, the road. And an untamed kingdom waiting to be discovered.
