THE CHALLENGE
HOLY (SHIT) ALPS CONQUEST is not just another ultracycling event.
It is both torment and transcendence — a passage through landscapes so punishing they make you curse, and so beautiful they make you believe in heaven.
It all begins in Girona, Spain, on August 8th, 2026. From the warmth of the Mediterranean, riders turn their wheels toward the mountains. The clock does not stop until they reach Munich, Germany, before sunset on August 21st.
Between those two moments lies a journey of strategy, suffering, and awe — where every climb is a crucible and every summit a glimpse of paradise.
The Route of Wonders
The path unfolds in three movements:
Part I — The Threshold.
A fixed route of 95 km carries the riders from Girona, paradise of cycling, to the Col d’Ares. A first ascent that feels like a gate: behind it, the realm of the extraordinary begins.
Part II — The Labyrinth.
From the Col d’Ares to Jausiers, France, the road becomes free. Riders must choose their own line:
Swift, rolling paths through Perpignan and Montpellier, kissed by sun and sea winds, or more secret, scenic detours where beauty softens the effort. Strategy and serenity walk hand in hand.
Part III — The Alpine Heaven (and Hell).
From Jausiers start the final fixed route, and the Alps rise like a cathedral of stone and sky. Here, agony and wonder become inseparable. Each pass is a prayer, each summit an altar.
The otherworldly Cime de la Bonette
The solemn Col Agnel
The historic Col d’Izoard
The savage Col du Granon
Giants like Galibier, Croix de Fer, Madeleine, Col de la Loze, among others
Or the monarch of them all: Col de l’Iseran
In Switzerland, the drama grows divine:
the sweeping Furkapass, the fierce Nufenenpass, the legendary cobbles of the Tremola at St. Gotthard,
and finally the holy trinity of San Bernardino, Splügenpass, and Albulapass.
Then comes Austria and Bavaria — rolling green valleys and fairytale peaks — before the final descent into glory in Munich.
Rules of Glory
Time limit: Sunset, August 21st, 2026.
Explorer Points: Riders must collect at least 30% to be recognized as finishers.
Classification: Ranked first by Explorer Points, then by elapsed time.
HOLY (SHIT) ALPS CONQUEST is more than a challenge.
It is a hymn to the mountains — to their cruelty and their splendor.
It is the place where tears meet triumph,
where hell paves the way to heaven.
You climb.
You cry.
You take a selfie.
And in between — you touch the divine.

ROUTE HIGHLIGHTS
Start from Girona

The journey begins in the sunlit streets of Girona, where cobbled alleys and ancient walls whisper of history. From here, the riders roll out into destiny.
Col d'Ares
A 95 km pilgrimage to the gateway of France. The Col d’Ares marks the first real ascent, the first taste of struggle, and the door to the unknown.

Free route to the Alps
From Perpignan’s warmth to Montpellier’s windswept roads, strategy takes over. Riders trace their own path across Occitania, balancing speed, beauty, and endurance on their way to Jausiers.

EP1 Cime de la Bonette
Central Europe’s highest paved road — a desolate lunar world above 2,800m. Conquer it, and you earn 12 Explorer Points, proof that you have touched the roof of the Alps.

EP2 Col Agnel

Remote and towering, Agnel is both a border and a beast. Its silence is broken only by breath and heartbeat. A climb that grants 12 Explorer Points to those who endure.
Col d'Izoard

An icon of cycling, where the desert-like Casse Déserte meets jagged peaks. Legendary in beauty and in pain, it is a passage every rider must respect.
EP3 Col du Granon

Recondit, brutal, and merciless. The Granon punishes the body but crowns the soul. Taking its summit adds 6 Explorer Points to your legacy.
Col del Galibier

The gateway to legend. Steeped in Tour de France history, Galibier is where riders measure themselves against eternity.
EP4 Glandon & Croix de Fer

Twin giants, chained together in a relentless test. Conquering both is worth 6 Explorer Points, forged in sweat and silence.
Col de la Madeleine

A serpent of asphalt winding skyward. Madeleine is grace and cruelty entwined, as breathtaking as it is unforgiving.
EP5 Col de la Loze

The new monster of the Alps — impossibly steep, twisting through ski slopes into thin air. Reaching its summit delivers 15 Explorer Points, and memories that will burn forever.
EP6 Col de l'Iseran

The monarch of the Alps. Towering above all others, the Iseran is a throne in the sky. Claiming it grants 17 Explorer Points, the crown jewels of this conquest.
Petit St. Bernard

Gentle yet mighty, this pass has bridged nations for centuries. Its sweeping beauty hides a quiet, eternal strength.
Gran San Bernardo

Sacred ground, where pilgrims once walked and saints gave refuge. Today, cyclists earn their blessing through sweat and pain.
EP7 Furkapass

A road of pure drama — hairpins carved into cliffs, glaciers hanging overhead, and the iconic Hotel Belvedere. Its conquest adds 10 Explorer Points to your soul.
Nufenenpass

Switzerland’s highest paved pass (with Umbrail's permission), raw and imposing. A wall of asphalt rising straight into the heavens.
EP8 St. Gotthard via Tremola

The legendary cobbled serpent. The Tremola is cycling’s ancient cathedral, and riding it adds 9 Explorer Points to your pilgrimage.
Passo San Bernardino

Green valleys below, granite walls above. The Bernardino is a climb of contrast, where serenity and savagery share the same road.
EP9 Splügenpass

A dizzying ribbon of switchbacks, folding endlessly into the sky. The Splügen is elegance and vertigo combined, and delivers the last 5 Explorer Points to your soul.
Albulapass

Quiet, remote, and hauntingly beautiful. The Albula feels like a secret — a final gift from the Alps before farewell.
Finish in Munich (Germany)

The odyssey ends in Bavaria, where the sharp edges of the Alps give way to rolling green fields and bustling streets. After days of summits, the flatlands feel almost unreal — a dream too simple after so much hardship. Yet this is where the pilgrimage finds its end: in Munich. Every kilometer, every climb, every tear and smile converge in this moment. Munich is not only the end — it is redemption, rebirth, and the place where legends finally rest their wheels.
